 FIRST SKETCH of ROY & CRAIG. I just got to drawing and drew up this shady hoodlum with a space helmet and thought to myself, Mr. Blonde... in SPACE! It kinda set me into a mode to try to capture the 50s science fiction aesthetic and things started brewing. As you can see, Craig went through some evolution.

The whole universe Roy and Craig inhabit has been a really fun creative process for me. It's basically all things trashy and Earthy and Americana just scattered throughout the stars. There's still fast-food, there's still strip joints and liquor stores and traffic jams and bad TV. Except it's all embedded in asteroids, and corporations own entire planets.

The more sleazeball elements of crime noir will be in full effect as you can see with my original design for MARVIN DREGGS (Who you'll be seeing more of in future stories despite his apparent demise in the debut story) Complete with jumpsuits and killer looks.
